So, I went to see this movie this past Friday with a friend and OH MY GOD, let me tell you.. it was FREAKING AMAZING!!!
I'm so happy I got to go. It was an absolute joy. I'm actually quite glad we went two hours (or an hour and a half) early because it assured that we would get the free stuff they had available there. XD ahaha...
I'm all for free stuff, and other than that, for those of us that got there early, they had a raffle to get a big theatrical poster (which my friend won!!! and then gave to me! AHH!!). Heh, anyways, they let us in about half an hour before the movie started and at first it was actually quite empty. I didn't think it was going to get too full because a while ago when I went with my sister to watch the Fullmetal Alchemist movie - The Star of Milos, It remained pretty empty, sadly, but about 10 minutes and then just a few minutes before it started it got pretty full. Like... the only seats available were the ones RIGHT in the front you know?

So it starts with Some newbie Hero's making a fool of themselves trying to catch a purse snatcher. The "Second String" trying to make it to the "First String" which is where Blue Rose, Shy High and everyone else, the "veteran" Hero's stand/are.
Then after failing horribly, Tiger enters scolding them for failing and when he's about to get the purse snatcher..... his powers run out. LOL... but he still got the criminal so it's a win (and you think he's alone) until... the roof collapses and he falls into the giant hole... of course... letting the criminal escape.
Then, As suave as ever, Barnaby comes in. And as always showing his exasperation in Tiger fumbling in some way and letting the criminal escape. lol...
Tiger says something along the lines of "Stop your griping and go after the purse snatcher!" and Bunny, again, always having to have to have the last word makes a remark about "being tired of cleaning up after tiger" and goes after the snatcher, catching him and winning a little cheer for the second string Hero's! When the crowd is cheering Tiger catches up and starts scolding Barnaby (as he always does) about him showing off, when someone in the crowd says, "You're amazing Kotetsu-san!" to which he yells back "It's Tiger! Tiger!" and Barnaby is all "Why are you still trying to hide who you are? Everyone knows your 'secret' identity. Stop trying to uphold your old traditions." and to this... once again Kotetsu just grumbles.
Then the next scene comes in and they're all eating hot dogs. The newbies treating everyone (by everyone I mean Tiger & Bunny for catching the snatcher LOL...) while in the big screen the First string Hero's are fighting. Blue Rose, Fire Emblem and everyone is fighting to catch a "big time" criminal. The newbies sigh and say how amazing and lucky the Hero's are and they wish they were already there, Tiger as optimistic as always says, Don't worry, We'll be there soon enough, so step up your strategies next time! They all cheer happily and chatter among themselves while Tiger walks closer to Barnaby and tells him pretty much, "You know, you can be with them now instead of saying behind with me." To which Barnaby says something along the lines of "We're a team, Kotetsu. Which means we stay together." (This hits us all in the feels!! everyone in the theater went "awww" haha! Me included.)
Then it goes to a board like meeting were there are people trying to pitch their sales to this one guy. Before most even get to finish, he interrupts them with "NEXT!"
He does this about 4 times before, lo and behold! Up next it non other than Ben trying to pitch his sale to pick up Hero TV which is on the verge of bankruptcy and that It's popular and that it'll be the best decision of his life! The guy glares for a few seconds... then smiles a slimy smile.
Then It's Barnaby and Kotetsu standing in front of this guy who is having them sign contracts. Stating that not only is he saving their company but they'll immediately go back into the First string of Hero's. Barnaby signs and then It goes to Barnaby taking toys to an orphanage. There an old nun is telling the story of the Goddess that punished the greedy humans by throwing them in a pit of despair after they ruined her lands and after they were punished they saw their wrongdoings and were repentant. THE STORY HERE
Then it goes to Barnaby and Kotetsu going to a party where everyone is waiting to congratulate them in making "First string" again. They all go up to the upper stage where they're watching the stage and Barnaby is all I'm happy we're back with our friends (and says some other sweet stuff that GAWD, is just awesome fan service) Kotetsu is all I'm glad I won't be holding you back anymore to which he doesn't put much thought into it and simply smiles and says "See you on stage"
He's presented and then The new snake-douchenozzle owner is leading up to his partner which is coming out in a huge bubble, everyone(Dragon Kid and the others) gets out of their seat and are all "Whoaaa! Is that were Kotetsu is? Is he coming out of that bubble?" Everyone is excited....... until the Owner is "And Barnaby Brooks Jr's new partner, Golden Ryan!!!!" The crowd cheers but all the other Hero's are... "le gasp?! What?! What about Tiger?!" and Barnaby of course can't hide his shock. Ryan is Introduced and It's a huge spectacle. It goes to a flash back where Kotetsu is talking to the douchebag and the douchebage is all, There is no room or use for an old man way past his prime to be on my team. You'll slow things down and are an eyesore, blah, blah-- real nasty stuff the douchenozzle! But if he doesn't convince Barnaby to sign the contract He'll let the company go into bankruptcy. He won't be saving anything if he doesn't agree to make Barnaby be on "his" new team.
Then Barnaby, on a rooftop, confronts Kotetsu and is all, you tricked me. Why? and Kotetsu simply reply's I don't want to hold you back Barnaby. You're only in the Second String because I'm there, but you don't need to. I know you need the money so why not just go? Barnaby is quiet because as Kotestu says more, he's pretty much implicating that Barnaby only cares about the money (Though, I KNOW Kotetsu was only doing that so that Barnaby wouldn't have to settle with where he his when he can be so much better) To which Barnaby replies, So that's it? After everything we've been through and everything you said about being a proud hero even if you only had one minute, after all that it was all just words? Kotetsu just shrugs and says He thinks it's time they go their separate ways. They stay there, staring at each other (THE FEELS!) when someone calls Barnaby back to the celebration.
Life goes on and Shortly after, It's announced that the douchenozzle isn't finished with ruining Kotetsu yet. He disbands the "Second string" Hero's saying there is no need for them. They're not going anywhere it's a waste of time and no one enjoys them anyways. Everyone is shocked. Barnaby is trying to contact Kotetsu calling him over and over (GOD THE FEELS HERE!!!) and Kotetsu is in the dark at his house. He is stuck in a lurch. What IS he supposed to do now? He'd been a Hero all along and was so happy to be one even in his current state of his powers lasting only a minute...
He calls his brother (or I think his brother called him... in any case he's on the phone with his brother) When His brother tells him, Kaede has been so worried and why not come home? There isn't anyone or anything holding him there anymore? But he's more than welcome at home. He smiles faintly and says yeah... he'll call him back after he thinks about it. He hangs up Then he says quietly to the dark, I'm sorry Tomoe, Sorry I wasn't able to keep my promise after all.
So once again, life goes on, the Hero's have been fighting a rash of mysterious attacks by Next that are always gone by the time the Incident is over. All anyone can say is that they hear a "howl" before things start exploding and before the glass breaks. You find out Golden Ryan's powers are gravity. He makes it so that no one can move, his gravity forces people to the ground. And Kotetsu has started a job as a Taxi driver. Ben helped him get the job. He runs into Alexander Lloyds, while on the job and he asks him why isn't he pushing to bring the second string back, to which he replies that It's time Kotetsu accepts reality and to stop hanging onto the fantasy of him being a hero. He's old, and he's done. Move on. Kotetsu drops him off at home and watches him for a minute as he interacts with his family. Kotetsu sighs and mumbles that perhaps he should...
Later, The hero's finally catch sight of the people responsible for the recent damage to the city, Fire Emblem runs into an old man in the middle of a town square where everyone is passed out around him. At first he thinks he's one of the victims and asks him if he's ok, The old man laughs and Turns on him telling him he is 'but you won't be' and these negative energy like orbs appear in his hands and he attacks him. Blue Rose and Dragon Kid followed by the others arrive on scene to see Fire Emblem passed out with all the other victims. They're all taken to a facility where they now have Fire Emblem in a quarantined special section because he is in a nightmare and his fire is burning all around him. Blue Rose or Karina is there using her Ice to keep everyone safe and keep his flames contained. It's now up to the others to find the criminals and fast so that they can save Fire Emblem. With some of the things they did, Barnaby makes the remark that the actions of these criminals reminds him of the story of the Goddess (which was told earlier at the Orphanage) and they put it together that these criminals are trying to replicate what happened in the story, which leads them to believe that soon they'll make their move and to replicate "throwing the people in a pit of despair" will mean they will destroy the whole city. They move in trying to find them at the festival that is to celebrate "Judgement day" Which is when the people were forgiven in the story They appear and explosions rock the city. They start fighting them, They separate to catch them, the old man, the howling guy and a girl that can replicate illusions of herself.
It goes back to Nathan and then we see what it is that he's seeing in his nightmare. (At this point, Kotetsu has heard that Nathan is in the hospital and is on his way to see him) The old man said that he makes people see their worst fears and relive the worst parts of their life. The Scars of the past. For Nathan, it's dealing with being a gay teen and a gay man. How when he was at (what appeared to be like) Boarding school and he looked at his sleeping roommate, which wasn't really sleeping at all, but was a bully that was waiting for Nathan to make some kind of move to prove that he was a "Creepy, gross, homo" then it flashes to Nathan seeing a Beautiful woman, A woman, whom he probably at one time or another, wished he was so that he could love men freely without being labeled as sick or perverted. So he could love men without being ostracized and labeled. And he has shadows of his mother and father saying how disappointed they are and disgusted they are to have a son like Nathan. And all these other shadows appear calling him names and Nathan screams and screams for them to stop. Which is why his fire is burning. It's getting stronger and while the Hero's are fighting Karina is worried for Nathan but at the same time frustrated that she can't go help them. (This whole thing... fuck... This is so sad. So very sad. God, I almost teared up because it's just so sad... poor Nathan. I LOVE YOU! <3)
Then suddenly Kotetsu shows up with a bunch of fire extinguishers telling Blue Rose to go and help the others. He'll make do until they defeat the bad guys. Karin hesitates but then agrees and goes. So she goes and they're fighting while the newscast is in the room where Kotetsu is trying to keep Nathan's flames at bay he too getting frustrated that he can't go help them, when the newbie hero's show up with more fire extinguishers and tell him to go help the others. They'll help Nathan. Saito is there to help Kotetsu suite up. Tiger shows up on scene with Bunny where he and Golden Ryan have taken the girl out but now have to go after the other bad guy coming up that has a bunch of metals syncing together to make a giant robot monster (and has taken the new douchenozzle hostage)
When back at the scene with Blue Rose and Dragon Kid, the old bastard makes the comment of how "people like" Nathan are weak and unneeded and at hearing this Blue Rose and Dragon Kid snap. And they scream at the old man about how They have never, ever, come across someone as brave, strong and as beautiful as Nathan is. Both outside and in. That he's their friend and a true comrade and that a slimy worm like him would never understand just exactly how strong and inspiring Nathan is to them. Nathan hears this in his nightmare and embraces the woman and shadows there. He sighs that yes, they are a part of him, all the ugly and the good and that (here he slaps himself with both hands and is back to his normal self) it is so unlike him to think about things that are past. That he is who he is and he loves all the parts of himself. So he breaks free of the Nightmare.
At this point Lunatic shows up trying to kill The CEO douchenozzle and Barnaby and Golden are going to take him on when Tiger tells them he'll take care of him, they should go after the machine thing. Bunny hesitate, asking Kotetsu if he's sure...they stare at each other (IT'S A FUCKING BEAUTIFUL MOMENT) when Golden Ryan intrudes saying "hey, mind including me in your touching moment? Hate to intrude but the thing is getting away" (HAHA SO BEAUTIFUL) Kotetsu tells bunny to go! Hurry up and go! So Bunny does and he deals with Lunatic which as they are fighting, him engaging Tiger more because he's in "his way", he tells Tiger "you truly know nothing do you" and it goes back to Bunny and Golden Ryan which are having trouble with all the metallic shit flying to become one with the robot machine thing, when Ryan does a huge gravitational pull and tells bunny to destroy the thing then, and they do, which reveals the bad guy to be the assistant of the Douchenozzle! He tells his story of how Douchenozzle took over his dad's watch company, that at first it thrived but then he kicked his dad out and with nothing to him anymore, nothing to help him financially, he was ruined and it drove his father to kill himself. And those other guys, the girl, the howling guy an the old man, were all victims of Mark Schneider(YES! I finally said his putrid name. LOL) and his overtake of their businesses. They were all doing it for revenge and they were going to make him pay.
Meanwhile Tiger is fighting Lunatic whom tell him he'll see how far his 'silly justice' can go and can do, he disappears and Kotetsu crash lands to where Bunny and Ryan are. While Trying to save Mark, Golden Ryan is knocked out by a giant call of debris flying to join back with the assistant. Now it's up to Tiger & Bunny to take him down.
Back with the others, Nathan/Fire Emblem Arrives with Karina/Blue Rose and Dragon Kid and as they're fighting the old mad is imploring how he broke through his sleep. Nathan simply says he's done dealing with the hate around him. He knows whom he is. And "someone like him" whom is both beautiful and gentle like a woman yet strong and determined like a man is simply invincible. (THIS WAS SUCH A TOUCHING MOMENT! omg! You guys will totally cheer like how everyone in the theaters did! lol...) He, Blue Rose and Dragon Kid finally take the bastard down. While Sky High, Rock Bison and Origami take the howling man down.
Tiger and Bunny are struggling with the machine thing, The Assistant telling Bunny how could HE be against it when He, Bunny himself, only became a Hero to get revenge on his family. Bunny says how yes... at first that was the only reason he became a hero, but then 'someone' showed him that that wasn't the only way. Someone showed him who he truly was and how to truly use his powers. Then after hacking away at the thing, finally the others arrive to help them, breaking pieces, Ryan gets back up and helps too, and finally, Using his limited powers Tiger and Bunny use their powers together, using their signature move of "Good luck mode, Tiger & Bunny, Over & Out"
Heh, So.. they defeat the bad guy, and Mark(remember, he's douchenozzle) when the thing was first after him, Told Agnes she could do anything she wanted as long as she sent someone to help him, so she Takes over the company now, while he goes to jail too. Agnes brings back the rookies and they have the second string again, while Golden Ryan gets an offer elsewhere and leaves and Tiger and Bunny are back with everyone in the first string.
Yuri Petrov/Lunatic is passing judgment on Mark as he is now a Judge (oh the Irony!) and he sentience's him and he's taken away while protesting. And... well... it ends with them going on to being Hero's on Hero TV once again!
Ha--- at the end credits... there's the awkward silence... while Bunny is driving them somewhere (not unlike the awkward Silence at the end, end of Marvels The Avengers) suddenly Tiger asks... "Hey, can I drive?" Bunny immediately without skipping a beat says... "No." ........
Haha! and they just continue riding. LOL...
***So... that's it! LOL...
For a note, It was about 2 days ago now that I watched it so I might have mixed some scenes up but it's all pretty much there! LOL... left out some of the hilarious parts and some more awesome slashy parts that was ABSOLUTELY loved, but I can't spoil you completely now can I? LOL..
When it comes out on DVD you can be sure I'm buying this. I totally suggest you do too. Even if you get the subs somewhere on bit torrent or something. This movie totally deserves your support in any way. It always includes the sub if you hate the dub but.. seriously. It was amazing. I don't have anything Negative to say about it!
Maybe there will be a second season yeah? going back to the Ouroboros story? HAHA! Here's to hoping but... that's that! So awesome.. and last but not least... the free stuff!! <3 <3
A clear file and a poster (that's the front and back. I got two of each cuz of my friend (that went with me) which I'm giving to my other friend which is a bigger fan than the one that went with me. LOL... that's the front and back of the poster. ahaha... anyways. IT WAS AMAZING!!
