Anime: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond (Movie)

Hi everyone!
Long time no see! lol

So today I went to watch the new and first movie to That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

Be Warned!! :: THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD.
IF YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN THE MOVIE, THEN DO NOT READ ON!

K, thanks! lol~

It centers around Benimaru's "brother" (basically not a blood brother but still an 'aniki' to everyone that lived there. Souei, Beni, Shion, etc...) who they thought died a long time ago when he left the village to work as a mercenary and likewise, their brother now named, Hiiro, thought they were all annihilated when the Orcs destroyed their village.

Hiiro was saved by the Queen of a country not too far from Tempest and had vowed to kill all the Orcs one day. Time goes by and while out on what seems to be a scout to see if they can save his new country by going to the Jura forest, he sees the Orcs building a new road for Tempest, of course, not knowing they're this whole huge country now and that the Orcs are no longer the evil minions of Clayman, He thinks they're actually destroying and like, stealing from the Jura Forest.

A fight ensues and when he's about to kill Geld, Benimaru steps in and so... as you can imagine a very cute reunion commences with a small celebration. Then formal meeting and a plea from Hiiro to help save his new country.

Rimuru goes and does is OP thing, lol, and all seems well, when finally an evil plot is slowly uncovered by Rimuru's "meddling".

It's a very nice addition to the series. I don't think it changes anything or if it's even canon. like.. if it was ever mentioned in an extra somewhere, like... if it was in the web novel, in the official Light Novel, a small side story somewhere in the manga extra booklets or whatnot, It could have even been a radio special, OR.... haha, an actual original story to the universe. But in any case, It was suuper cute and I really enjoyed it. It was funny, although really predictable along with a little annoying with how fucking GULLIBLE Hiiro was at one point that really had me rolling my eyes way too hard. lmao

The ending is a cliche anime ending. They fight the big fight, win the big fight, looks tragic but it all ends in a happily ever after. loll... that's basically it.
But again, it's so fun overall and I still really enjoyed watching this little addition to the series.
If you're a fan of the series I would definitely say to give it a go. It'll be entertaining.

ANIME: Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World

A force known as Astral power permeates throughout the world, wielded by astral mages. Fearing its destructive power, the "Empire" persecutes those who show their abilities. The tormented mages then founded the Nebulis Sovereignty to flee from their oppressors. Since then, the two nations have been in bitter conflict, the war still going strong for more than a century.

After committing the great crime of freeing an imprisoned witch, the talented knight Iska is sentenced to prison. A year later, the Empire leadership suddenly decides to set him free, with the condition that he hunts down a fearsome mage known as the "Ice Calamity Witch." Hoping to end the war, Iska agrees. Coincidentally, the Ice Calamity Witch herself, Aliceliese "Alice" Lou Nebulis XI, also wishes for peace and is willing to do everything she can to bring down the Empire.

As Iska and Alice both yearn for a crusade that will turn the world into one without struggle, woe, or pain, the strings of fate tie them ever closer together, creating a bond that goes beyond something fabricated by mere coincidence.

---* * * --- * * * ---

I finally got around to watching this anime. It aired for the Fall season 2020.
Cover of volume 2 LN

It's actually based off a Light Novel of the same name.

It's so nice. I hesitated to watch it because after the initial PV, I was just sort of put off by the seemly hopeless story. It's basically a love story of star-crossed lovers. So, as per usual, I expected it to end as a tragedy. Which I was in no mood for. lol
Anyway, I just decided to put it on and Ah~ It's so sweet and has you rooting for the Main Characters, Iska and Alice. the animation is a little odd, but really amazing in the magic and fight scenes.

Well, I've been watching it little, by little when I have time and am almost done with it now. I only have 4 episodes left but OMFG!! I am so frustrated with it right now because the "captain" is a fucking useless bitch. LOL
She's so fucking useless I can't even stand it.
She's always getting captured. Hasn't ever fought and is just in the fucking way. UGHAdlkfja;sdk! LMAO... GOD! I HATE characters like her. I really wish she would just die and let Iska get revenge later. loll...
Anyways, overall I have been enjoying it. I hope it does end happily for Iska and Alice. I just want them together! ;A;/

REVIEW: Ghoulish (The Alpha Chronicles #1) by Joel Abernathy

Colt Jager has always found his best friend mouthwatering, just...not the way he does now.

Out of all the ways Colt thought he’d be spending his twenty-fifth birthday, sinking his teeth into a random stranger definitely wasn’t on the list. Neither was falling headfirst into a hidden world of superhuman beasts who claim he’s one of them.

Awakening as a ghoul is like going through puberty all over again. Mood swings? Check. Raging hormones? Check. Awkward physical transformations? Check. Blurred lines between bloodlust and lust of the good old-fashioned variety?

That last part might be uniquely ghoulish, but if he doesn’t figure it out, his next dinner date with Jason might be the last. Then there’s the family of elite ghoul-eating ghouls who want to put a permanent end to his second life. As if he needed another reason to hate birthdays.

Note: This is an MM Urban Fantasy series with romance elements unfolding over the course of the series, not an MM romance.

ANIME REVIEW: Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution 1 (Movie)

I recently watched Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution 1, the first reboot movie of the Eureka Series and honestly I don't think anyone that hasn't watch the original anime should watch this. A lot of it and I mean basically the entire thing, is centered around events that happened in the anime. Even if they do kind of go back in the past and talk about Renton's father it's not really...
Well it's not for anyone new, barely jumping in on it now. It's definitely for fans of the series. Now I'm a huge fan of the Eureka Seven Series. This is probably one of my top favorite Mecha series up there with Gundam Wing and like Gundam Seed Destiny.

Now, I'm conflicted because I was liking it at first, but it's a lot of recap and going back and forth over the time when he spends time with the Beams family. I don't know, It was good at the start because it was new material and you could even tell by the animation style that it was new material. It went deeper into what happened with Adroc (Renton's father) and Eureka, like how they escaped and why he did what he did. Now though, it's definitely a bunch of copy paste from the anime of Renton's time on The Swan and the Beams family (around episodes 22-25 in the anime).

None of the rest of it, except for the first like, 20 mins was new material. It's all stuff I've already seen in the series. I'm kind of sad because I really wanted to like it. I really do like the series but right now I'm just kind of like, "oh it's just recap". Legit, it's not even reanimation it's recycled, copy/paste of the series.
They repeated the same scene almost three times... not really clarifying what the point was. We already learned all of this. Renton's time with the Beams and why he left Gekko State and why he got Disillusioned with Gekko.

Thinking back on it, I'm so annoyed with it. I wanted to love it. I was liking it because it was a little bit different when it started but after it was the same as the episodes (22-25) of the series!! It didn't move forward from that at all. From the point of where he realized the Swan was after the Gekko to get Eureka. And then, why then, Renton also left the Swan to go back to the Gekko.

When I first heard about this movie, I was under the impression, like most anime movies, that it was going to be a bit of retelling (So like a repeat of the anime but different script/view) and then new material, but this is just literally the same episode repeated! Nothing was different from episodes 22-25 of the anime. The only thing that was different is the specific details of how Adroc created the first Summer of Love

I honestly don't know if I want to watch or buy Hi-Evolution 2 movie. I am so disappointed with this. Again, I was expecting something else like a retelling but like new animated version of what we learned, like the usually do and then some original/new content. Even the first movie that was like, trashed wasn't this bad. I believe it was called "Eureka Seven: Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers"

Man.. I'm so mad. I can't get over it because I just love this series so much! It's totally one of my go-to anime. I was expecting something way better than what they gave us. I had so much potential. With how much they advertised it and promoted it as new material and new view at this certain part of the series, man this was garbage.
Look, this is what it says on the back of the movie;
Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution 1 Movie Blu-ray/DVD from studio Bones returns for the first movie in a high-flying trilogy.

Ride the trapars and take to the skies once more! The revolutionary mecha anime returns with the story that was left untold—the earth-shattering incident where Renton’s father disappeared. With Eureka by his side, only Adroc Thurston could undo his own mistake. Now, ten years later, Renton finds himself in the care of his father’s old friends and facing a decision that will change everything.

Doesn't this sound like it's new!?
As a fan, if you're a fan and reading this, doesn't it sound like it's something we've never seen before?!
So again, I did watch the trailer. I did know that he was going to be with the Beam's family, but it sounded and looked like it was going to be something new! But it's not! You can totally just find the anime and watch episodes 22-26 and you'd have watched the movie. The only thing that was new and different and well, cool, because it was interesting was watching Adroc and Eureka escape. Also how he came to be the "Hero" and how he was involved with the First Summer of Love.

Just.... ugh... I'm so very disappointed. Not at all what I was hoping for when I bought it. I mainly got it because I was like... "Eureka Seven?! Hell yeah! I freaking love this series! Of course I'm going to buy it!" lol.....
Honestly, I regret it. I definitely do not suggest you buy this unless you're a huge fan of the anime (even then, maybe not. I got it because I thought it was something new...). It's really not worth it. Truly a recycled material movie and a waste of money.

I'm going to leave a little bit of redemption space and give it the benefit of the doubt. I'm going to hope that the second movie is better and new material. I'm going to definitely wait to get all the reviews in for the 2nd movie.

                                                                        My Review

I freaking LOVED the hell out of this book!!

Troy's insecurity and feelings of unworthiness come from a long childhood of bullying and humiliation. Added on to this was his family/home situation where he was ignored and neglected.
Of which left him with always thinking that he is not worthy of this person or that. This comes to the forefront when he meets Adam.

Adam who seems larger than life and brighter than the sun is assertive and goes after the things he wants and likes. In this case, that happens to be Tory.

However, when Troy's feelings of unworthiness get the better of him and he acts cold and distant, Adam thinks maybe this time he needs to let it go. Maybe they aren't meant to be... but he wants too badly to see where this could lead and even though he wants to throw in the towel he doesn't want to give up. Will he be able to make Troy see just how much he's worth and that he too deserves to be cherished?

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD...♥

Review: The Destruction of Kirill by Pax Asteriae

He thought he'd experienced the worst kinds of pain imaginable. Apparently not. The past wasn't a patch on this.

Born in the workhouse and molded into an obedient slave, Kirill expected his life to be simple: serve his wealthy owners until they grew bored and sold him, repeating the process again and again until the day he died. He never wanted his master's precious only son to take an unhealthy interest in him, and he didn't expect one single horrifying summer's day to plunge his life into ruin.

Now he has to adjust to another kind of life: one with a man who never wanted to own a slave and has no use for the one he now possesses. But just when Kirill thinks he's finally found normality it all comes crashing down again—and worse, this time it's all his own fault.

Hauled into a world of chaos and destruction by a charming stranger, Kirill struggles to manoeuvre his way without letting both his past and his grief overwhelm him, but is his rescuer all that he seems, or has Kirill walked from one hell straight into another?

Review: It's Complicated (Tucker Springs #7) by L.A. Witt

L.A. Witt always knows how to pull at my heartstrings and just feel her characters.

This was no different. I was so reluctant to read it because a lot of my friends warned me away or whatnot, so I was just kind of afraid because I love L.A.'s books so much. I didn't want to read a book of hers that I would hate. lol
But today I finally got the courage to and oh man.. I have NO regrets. I truly don't.

In fact, I'm upset it took so long to read it! lol....

Now remember, These are just my own thoughts and opinions.

But if you like what I have to say and don't mind my little warnings, please, PLEASE give it a try.
I loved this so much. I hope you might too.

After their umpteenth breakup, Brad Sweeney and Jeff Hayden are living apart and starting over from scratch. The morning after a promising first date, they’re more optimistic than ever that they can make it work this time . . . until Jeff’s ex-wife and business partner calls to announce she’s pregnant with Jeff’s baby. Brad’s already competing with a demanding business for Jeff’s time. Now there’s a baby on the way, and worse, he’s afraid Jeff is still carrying a torch for the woman who’s carrying his child.

Jeff is desperately trying to keep his life together, but before he can even get his head around the news that he’s going to be a father, his ex announces that she wants to leave Tucker Springs. Now he either has to take over her role at the shop while ferrying the baby back and forth from Denver, or move the business—and himself—with her.

Brad and Jeff knew reconciliation wouldn’t be easy, but they’re rapidly running out of room for compromise. And sooner or later, something has to give.

Review: The Emerald Prince by Kayci Morgan

This was actually my first book by this Author so I guess there was going to be a few misses in reading some of her books before I became or become familiar with her writing.
Still, I really wished I could have liked it more. I loved the blurb of it....

Well, in any case. Here is my review and buy links in case you'd like to give it a try.

Really, DO NOT TAKE MY REVIEW TO HEART. This is only my own personal opinion on it. EVERYONE has different taste so whereas I couldn't really get into it, YOU could freaking love it!

I would say to give it a try if you really want to.

In a kingdom faced with civil war, an idealistic prince must abandon the foreign princess he desires for an arranged marriage to an influential knight. Together, the prince and knight travel north to deal with an army marching on the kingdom’s borders, only to discover the biggest threat to the crown is the princess they left behind.

Prince Elliot had everything—wealth, power, the love of a beautiful woman. It wasn’t enough. More than anything he wanted to prove himself worthy of his crown. When negotiations for his sister's arranged marriage to Sir Blaine fell apart, he was asked to take her place and marry the knight.

Sir Blaine was adored throughout the kingdom for his strategic mind and feats of bravery. He was rewarded with the greatest gift a king could offer a knight—the princess’s hand in marriage.

But Blaine found the brazen Prince Elliot far more enticing.

Review: Rebellion (The Colony Book 1) by J. Tomas

(First off, gah! It's been such a long time since I last posted here! lol)

Well, I just finished reading this YA Novel and... I can't even begin to describe how much I loved it. Really. I'm not blowing smoke up the authors ass because I received it for review. It's honestly how I feel.

I admit I put it down for a while (in fact, I almost forgot I had it to review) because the first two chapters were kind of slow. But this is the way I am. I set a book down, and when I go back to it (when I remember) I fall completely into it's world until I reached the end. And that's what happened again with this one. I am SO glad I got around to it again. I can't even believe I set it down the first time. Yes, there's no sex, (to those of you that don't read anything that has no sex *cough*laketica*cough*) not even a fade-to-black, But this is one of those cases where I don't care. It was just that good that you didn't need the sex scenes in it to be better.

Well, before I blather on, here is the official product detail, buy links, followed by my official review, and then more of my chatter.

Sixteen year old Aine lives in the Colony, and his whole life was decided before he was born. In two years he will marry the girl next door, Brin, who was assigned as his Other at birth. Then he will be given a position in the Colony's workforce that best suits his talents. Each night he takes four pills, like everyone else in the Colony, and he knows the pills keep them safe and their world in order.

Everything is fine. Perfect, in fact. Until Aine accidentally drops one of his pills.

Terrified, he tries to hide the mistake, but when he dreams for the first time in his life, he discovers all he's been missing. What scares him more than not taking the pill, though, is how alive his dreams make him feel. Because it isn't Brin he dreams of but his best friend Kyer.

Another boy.

Suddenly Aine's world turns upside down, and he doesn't know what to think or who to trust. All he knows for sure is he's falling in love with Kyer, which is forbidden by the Colony's Code, and he will do anything to protect their budding relationship.

Even if it means defying the Overseer and leaving the Colony behind.

My Review
I was so completely caught in the world of this book.
Seriously... What I wouldn't give to see it as a movie! lol...

Though, I admit, the first two chapters were a little slow for me. I even put it down and almost forgot about it, but the moment I picked it back up to finish, I simply couldn't put it down. (It was probably, most likely, just me. I probably wasn't in the mood to read it at the time. lol)

But anyways, After, it just picked up and I was so engrossed in reading Aine's struggle with his emotions and concerns and panic... It was all just so real that I read on and on wanting to know what happened next.

This is an absolutely wonderful world that J. Tomas has created. Scary, in it's own sense too. If you sit down and think about how they control everyone... it's actually quite terrifying.
Once I reached chapter 21 oh my god, I was so emotionally invested to what Aine was feeling. I wanted him to find a way. A way out. I was with him every step of the way. The details and everything were just wonderful. I love that everything was so easy to follow. At no point were you stuck wondering, "What, what happened there?", As some titles do. No, This had you with and inside Aine's thoughts every step of the way.

All I want now is the next book. I NEED to see what happens next. There are still so many questions I have but most importantly, I want to see what Aine and Kyer find. What will the repercussions be? Will we see what happens to Brin and Lyra and their family? (and Brin! you bitch! lol) What exists outside the walls? So much!

I really can't recommend this book enough! It's a must read! A fantastic YA GLBT title.

Thank you for this wonderful story J. Tomas! I really can't wait for the next book!!

**I Received this copy from the author in Exchange for an honest review**
———————————

Heh, so that's that. I honestly don't read that many YA-GLBT titles anymore only because I put my heart into this one series I was reading and it was... just... a disaster. The two teens that were so totally meant to be, were split up and it just went on and on and to complete shit, that it kinda ruined the genre for me.
But after this... Oh.. I'm totally back in.I LOVED IT! I really can't say it enough. So totally look forward to the second.

Now I wonder how long it will be though....
A trilogy? 4-5 books? Gah! I totally need to know! lol...
hmm~~ And I wonder if the author will write a full on sex scene later on... like... write it under JM Snyder with their future as it is now or in their future if they manage to escape intact and all.
aha! I can hardly wait! ♥

Bloodlines

This is the spin-off series to Vampire Academy. (which I loved)

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

The first book in Richelle Mead's brand-new teen fiction series - set in the same world as Vampire Academy.

____________________________________________________________
My Rating: ✩✩✩

Ok, As far as story goes, I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. But really? That was only because Adrian was there. THE ONLY REASON.

Other than that......
What the fuck?!?!?!?!

Seriously? This was the most boring book!! I mean, Sure, ok, I knew there wouldn't be heavy action or kick ass fighting like in VA because Sydney wasn't a fighter but holy fuck, This was the most boring shit ever.
There was no "romance" in it, no real big "mystery" no nothing.
What the fuck is everyone's fucking fascination with Jill? I FUCKING HATE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the love of Christ!! She was described as "ordinary" or whatever in VA and suddenly she's a fucking "goddess"!! Really? NO one can resist her, everyone wants to fuck her? Since when? Not even Lissa had that much attention.
This book was nothing more than a fucking hormonal high school chick flick!

What the hell happened to Eddie?!?!?! I mean, Ok, so there's this guy that looks like Mason and he's torn on how to feel with having him around (Yes, This feeds my yaoi addiction) but what the hell. This was just WAY too much. This was not the Eddie I came to know and love. He was not so second guessing and fucking Emo. No way. I don't know what happened Mrs. Mead, but you really disappointed with the way  you suddenly changed Eddie. That was a huge mistake.

So I get having to have to protect Jill, But fucking really? Did you HAVE to make her the sudden lust of everyone? I mean, FUCK!!! You ruined SUCH a good book. What could have been anyways...

The only normal character was Adrian. And that is the ONLY reason I give this book at least 3 stars. And Yes, HOLLOW, stars. not full cuz it doesn't deserve the extra colored-in animation. GOD... I was SO looking forward to the awesomeness of this book and it felt SO flat!!!

I actually liked Sydney's character. Oh, yeah, Lets not forget the NO romance part. Why even have that in the description when it doesn't fucking exist! The only "romance" there was, was at the end when Sydney got "queasy feeling in her stomach" and Adrian finally looking deeply into her eyes and realizing how "beautiful" she was. THAT WAS IT!!

I thought, and the only reason I'm going to continue this series, Is because I hope that Adrian and Sydney will get together. That Adrian will get his happy ending because If ANYONE in this world deserves it, It's him. For what Rose did to him.
And.... The sudden Mystery that is Sydney's blood. These last two reasons are the only ones that will and are making me curious for the next book. It better get more interesting or whatever with the next or I shall seriously consider sending Hate mail. LOL....
