Korean BL Novels
I just found out that a new publisher is translating BL Novels!
They're called "WordExcerpt": https://wordexcerpt.com/
HAHA I know it's a little plain. I thought so too and didn't think they were real but they sure are! lol. Only it's not Japanese BL. This time, it's Korean Yaoi/BL Novels!
They're not "Light Novels". The difference is that 'light novels' have illustrations. These are just full on 'novels' that are just words and no illustrations. I think only Japanese have Light Novels because not even the Chinese novels that I've read have illustrations. I'm not sure though. Do let me know if I'm wrong about that assumption.
Anyways, I am so thrilled and just.... ahh!! Overjoyed that someone else has taken an interest in BL Novels!
They seem to be a little like J-Novel club. They have novels available chapter by chapter through a subscription service and then put the novel up on Amazon, Barnes & Noble...etc once completed/compiled into a full volume.
The two fully published Yaoi Titles so far are:
(BE WARNED! THEY ARE BOTH ON-GOING)
Kiss Me, Liar (Volume 1) ebook
Look At Me (Volume 1) ebook
Kiss Me, Liar AUDIO BOOK:
Those are the links to purchase the ebook (& the one audio) and you can go to their site HERE
To get the paperback/hardcover versions! ☺
But they have more BL! Not just these.
You can go here to see what else they have: https://wordexcerpt.com/genre/bl/
I only mentioned those two more because they're the only two, SO FAR, that have a full volume complete. Like I said, they're sort of a chapter subscription service. Once a volume is complete is when they sell on Amazon and other ebook retailers.
Anyways, yeah, go forth! lol... Check out their site and spread the love! Tell your other fujo-friends and buy some more BL!

DSP Debacle
And now they become one of them.
I am just so very sad about that. I really am. I don't even know what to really say or feel other than feel so sad and betrayed by them. And that's just me as a READER I can't begin to imagine how the Author's published through them must feel. It's really just the worst thing to have happened to one of the, if not the real last giant MM Romance publisher.
One thing I have been really hating more than what they did is watching author's that have left berate and ridicule those that have decided to stay. What everyone does in this situation is their own business and reason. And they don't have to justify it to anyone but themselves.
So all those bitches out there that claim to be on all authors' side, how about you not shame those that stayed. okay?
Again, mind your business. You have no idea what was their reason for staying AND they don't need to tell anyone. It does NOT mean they're the only ones getting paid or made a deal or whatever, it was just a choice they felt was the best for them. So again, FUCK OFF.
Now... I don't think Dreamspinner Press will ever recover from this. Unless someone else takes management of this and they kick out Elizabeth North, I don't know if there will be a comeback. Even if there is a resurrection. No one will trust them again. Maybe it's something deeper and not Elizabeth North, but who knows... I'm only seeing what people are assuming and not what the real shit factor was.
In any case, it's indeed just a sad view to see. This publisher that saved homeless books from rotten publishers ultimately become one of the very same rotten apples.

Stuck in a genre ༼☯﹏☯༽
I find that lately my taste in books has really changed.
Like, I've only been reading shifters and mpreg for a while now and although I LOVE it very, very much, I've been wanting to take a break and read something else but, I simply just can't seem to get out of it.
There are a few re-reads that are contemporary and I can easily fall back into those but when I try to read anything new, I just CAN'T seem to start it without getting bored.
I have such a huge list on my "To be read" pile on goodreads and I wanna knock some down! lol, but then, I also add more mpreg and... so... it's just an endless cycle! lol~~
Ugh, I mean, It's kinda frustrating but also, like I Love shifters and mpreg so... whatever? lol..
I don't know, I feel I need a break but also, I want to read so many more mpreg titles. Again, It's hard to describe. Very contradictory but I want a break from it. I wanna read something else but again, even when I try to read another, regular novel, I just can't seem to get into it. It doesn't pull me in at all. It's best to describe it as.. well, yeah, I just get too bored, set it aside and pick right up where I left off in the paranormal /mpreg novel I was reading. lol.
I guess I'm just going to have to force myself to stop a bit and at least go into a contemporary from a favorite author. Maybe I'll get back into Marie Sexton or Mary Calmes. They're such huge favorites maybe they can break me away. It's not that I'm bored or tired of mpreg and paranormal it's just.... I don't know....

What happened to ______???
There have been some great and amazing authors that sadly, seemed to have vanished from the gay romance writing community.
All of which, I LOVED and sorely miss...
They have no internet presence or just any updates or any way to contact them. It's just...*sigh* Sad. I really wish, if they stopped writing, that they had said something instead of just leaving and letting us just wonder and worry if they're ok or if something happened to them. Which is what I think the majority of the time. That something happened and that's why they never showed their presence again. I had just been wondering this lately because, I started re-reading a series from some of these vanished authors and can't help but think on it all over again. It's been YEARS for some... months for others...
Mostly.. YEARS without word...
I miss them and so, so wish that they're actually out there somewhere just.. under a different pen name that I didn't even know about. lol...
Taylor Ryan
Kady Stewart
Amylea Lyn
Mark Alders
Scarlet Hyacinth
Jana Downs
Gabrielle Evans
Marcus Atley
S.L. Armstrong
K. Piet
Jackie Nacht
.... there are so many more but for now this is my list. lol... Just something I wanna keep track of in case they ever come back. They're all in my insta-buying list because I love the worlds and characters they created but mostly I just wanna know if they're okay and/or just retired from writing... not that they owe me/us anything. It's just, I wish I knew, you know?

♦ My Review ♦
I freaking LOVED the hell out of this book!!
Troy's insecurity and feelings of unworthiness come from a long childhood of bullying and humiliation. Added on to this was his family/home situation where he was ignored and neglected.
Of which left him with always thinking that he is not worthy of this person or that. This comes to the forefront when he meets Adam.
Adam who seems larger than life and brighter than the sun is assertive and goes after the things he wants and likes. In this case, that happens to be Tory.
However, when Troy's feelings of unworthiness get the better of him and he acts cold and distant, Adam thinks maybe this time he needs to let it go. Maybe they aren't meant to be... but he wants too badly to see where this could lead and even though he wants to throw in the towel he doesn't want to give up. Will he be able to make Troy see just how much he's worth and that he too deserves to be cherished?

Review: The Destruction of Kirill by Pax Asteriae
Born in the workhouse and molded into an obedient slave, Kirill expected his life to be simple: serve his wealthy owners until they grew bored and sold him, repeating the process again and again until the day he died. He never wanted his master's precious only son to take an unhealthy interest in him, and he didn't expect one single horrifying summer's day to plunge his life into ruin.
Now he has to adjust to another kind of life: one with a man who never wanted to own a slave and has no use for the one he now possesses. But just when Kirill thinks he's finally found normality it all comes crashing down again—and worse, this time it's all his own fault.
Hauled into a world of chaos and destruction by a charming stranger, Kirill struggles to manoeuvre his way without letting both his past and his grief overwhelm him, but is his rescuer all that he seems, or has Kirill walked from one hell straight into another?

Review: It's Complicated (Tucker Springs #7) by L.A. Witt
This was no different. I was so reluctant to read it because a lot of my friends warned me away or whatnot, so I was just kind of afraid because I love L.A.'s books so much. I didn't want to read a book of hers that I would hate. lol
But today I finally got the courage to and oh man.. I have NO regrets. I truly don't.
In fact, I'm upset it took so long to read it! lol....
Now remember, These are just my own thoughts and opinions.
But if you like what I have to say and don't mind my little warnings, please, PLEASE give it a try.
I loved this so much. I hope you might too.
After their umpteenth breakup, Brad Sweeney and Jeff Hayden are living apart and starting over from scratch. The morning after a promising first date, they’re more optimistic than ever that they can make it work this time . . . until Jeff’s ex-wife and business partner calls to announce she’s pregnant with Jeff’s baby. Brad’s already competing with a demanding business for Jeff’s time. Now there’s a baby on the way, and worse, he’s afraid Jeff is still carrying a torch for the woman who’s carrying his child.
Jeff is desperately trying to keep his life together, but before he can even get his head around the news that he’s going to be a father, his ex announces that she wants to leave Tucker Springs. Now he either has to take over her role at the shop while ferrying the baby back and forth from Denver, or move the business—and himself—with her.
Brad and Jeff knew reconciliation wouldn’t be easy, but they’re rapidly running out of room for compromise. And sooner or later, something has to give.

Books with HATEFUL formatting and NO COVERS
Ugh... That's one thing I don't like about purchasing from smashwords or ARe sometimes...
That the books end up coming out with no covers.
Smashwords especially has that. Which totally just... urgh!! It's irks me so damn bad. Almost always those self published titles have no covers.
Then there is ARe. The good thing about ARe is that the majority DO come with covers. Yay! But, You do get a good amount that don't.
Now, don't get me wrong here, I know it probably has NOTHING to do with ARe or Smashwords at all. It might all have to do with what the author turns in. They probably really have no control over how it comes out when put up for sale, And at least, if you submit a 'ticket' at ARe, they are likely to fix it....but still!! It's annoying!!!
Yesterday... or... I think it was actually the day before, I bought two books, First off, one was fucking HORRIBLY FORMATTED!!!!! Like seriously!! Fucking terrible. Jumbo fucking lettering and no pretty format at all. Like.. here... I'll give you an example.
No joke. This is real here... NO. JOKE.
Then, I got one with NO cover. Not only that, I thought, "Oh! Fine.. I'll just put it in my nook (the epub format) and Yay! I'll have cover and it'll be pretty so I won't mind..."
NOPE!
Not only does it NOT have a cover for that either BUT it has shitty formatting as well.
I mean.. I get that things get fucked up when formatting them into other formats. Sure, of course, it happens but... the fact that it happens so often is just too damn annoying. Like... I'm giving you my money... right? so, the least you can do is make sure that your book looks great when it comes out on the other side. Right? (in all formats! come on! please?!)
Some will say, "well it looks good on the mobi format"
Oh, well, good for you, BUT I DON'T FUCKING USE MOBI FORMAT!!
NOT EVERYONE USES STUPID MOBI/KINDLE FORMAT!!!
I really wish other formats would get the same 'loving' for what seems to go into the 'mobi' format.
I Hate buying books that look like shit. Which is why I often don't get self publishes books even if I WANT TO SO DAMN BAD!!
It's because they look hideous. So I buy just Publisher ones.
I mean, I can't be the only person who is so anal about pretty covers and nice formatting right? Am I the only one?
*sigh*
I could just look the other way and just READ it but I buy these books to keep and treasure... I really wish some of them would be as pretty as others for my collection....

Review: Rebellion (The Colony Book 1) by J. Tomas
Well, I just finished reading this YA Novel and... I can't even begin to describe how much I loved it. Really. I'm not blowing smoke up the authors ass because I received it for review. It's honestly how I feel.
I admit I put it down for a while (in fact, I almost forgot I had it to review) because the first two chapters were kind of slow. But this is the way I am. I set a book down, and when I go back to it
Well, before I blather on, here is the official product detail, buy links, followed by my official review, and then more of my chatter.

Each night he takes four pills, like everyone else in the Colony, and he knows the pills keep them safe and their world in order.
Everything is fine. Perfect, in fact. Until Aine accidentally drops one of his pills.
Terrified, he tries to hide the mistake, but when he dreams for the first time in his life, he discovers all he's been missing. What scares him more than not taking the pill, though, is how alive his dreams make him feel. Because it isn't Brin he dreams of but his best friend Kyer.
Another boy.

Seriously... What I wouldn't give to see it as a movie! lol...
Though, I admit, the first two chapters were a little slow for me. I even put it down and almost forgot about it, but the moment I picked it back up to finish, I simply couldn't put it down. (It was probably, most likely, just me. I probably wasn't in the mood to read it at the time. lol)
But anyways, After, it just picked up and I was so engrossed in reading Aine's struggle with his emotions and concerns and panic... It was all just so real that I read on and on wanting to know what happened next.
This is an absolutely wonderful world that J. Tomas has created. Scary, in it's own sense too. If you sit down and think about how they control everyone... it's actually quite terrifying.
Once I reached chapter 21 oh my god, I was so emotionally invested to what Aine was feeling. I wanted him to find a way. A way out. I was with him every step of the way. The details and everything were just wonderful. I love that everything was so easy to follow. At no point were you stuck wondering, "What, what happened there?", As some titles do. No, This had you with and inside Aine's thoughts every step of the way.
All I want now is the next book. I NEED to see what happens next. There are still so many questions I have but most importantly, I want to see what Aine and Kyer find. What will the repercussions be? Will we see what happens to Brin and Lyra and their family? (and Brin! you bitch! lol) What exists outside the walls? So much!
I really can't recommend this book enough! It's a must read! A fantastic YA GLBT title.
Thank you for this wonderful story J. Tomas! I really can't wait for the next book!!
**I Received this copy from the author in Exchange for an honest review**
Heh, so that's that. I honestly don't read that many YA-GLBT titles anymore only because I put my heart into this one series I was reading and it was... just... a disaster. The two teens that were so totally meant to be, were split up and it just went on and on and to complete shit, that it kinda ruined the genre for me.
But after this... Oh.. I'm totally back in.

Now I wonder how long it will be though....
A trilogy? 4-5 books? Gah! I totally need to know! lol...
hmm~~ And I wonder if the author will write a full on sex scene later on... like... write it under JM Snyder with their future as it is now or in their future if they manage to escape intact and all.
aha! I can hardly wait! ♥

Life after Death
I am absolutely IN LOVE with it!! This is actually the first actual novel that I have read that has reincarnation. Especially one as tragic as this one. Its beautiful! lol
I wanna look for more like this because I'm totally loving it. The Way the Scarlet has described it all and the emotional tragedy of their past lives and yes the utter happiness of the characters, that they have found themselves 200 years later is wonderful! It really made me tear up a bit there! lol...
REALLY, looking forward to the rest of the series. More than ever now!

I really wanna read...
Aside from the beautiful Art of the cover... the story really just interests me. ;A;/ I hope I can get it soon.
But someone has been watching the young half elf from the shadows, and without Sarnaiel's presence he makes his move in the most brutal of ways. Naliel survives, but his mind and body are broken. Sarnaiel returns to pick up the pieces, mending and nurturing and rebuilding their bond, but once again their relationship is thwarted by the birth of Naliel's bride.
Once the source of his greatest joy, Sarnaiel becomes Naliel's torment. For Sarnaiel, when hurt, strikes back twice as hard and viciously. It doesn’t matter who it is. He almost goes too far and through that, finally learns what should be truly important to him. The oath they make that day is what seals their already unbreakable bond, and the two grow older, and wiser, together. For no matter what happens, no matter what they face, even if it's their own kin, they live by their promise:
"It was us from the beginning, and it'll be us until the end."

Fang & Fur
I really, really liked this one too... however... I was surprised by how many typos were in here this time. Usually its almost flawless but this time there were quite a few to just ignore.
Another thing that made me a little sad is that there was this cute character called Micha, that sadly, was abused by the Antagonist in the story. But he was in it and then suddenly... he was brushed off. He was still mentioned towards the end ... twice... but he still jut vanished. I would have liked to see more of him.
xD heh... I honestly hope that Stormy Decides to continue his story in like... a side one-shot later on. I really fell in love with Micha. I REALLY want to see more of him and see him find happiness. :)
anyways, aside from those two things... I LOVED IT! Once again~~ another wonderful story and mating in the Midnight Mating series.
